1. Policy Introduction

Nurture Education Group is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals’ personal information. This Privacy Policy sets out the principles that Nurture Education Group will follow in collecting, using, keeping, disclosing and otherwise managing personal information.

“Personal information” is information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether true or not and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.

Nurture Education Group is bound by the Privacy Act 1998 (Commonwealth) (Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles that are contained in that Act.

2. Collection of Personal Information

Nurture Education Group may collect personal information about an individual in a variety of ways, including when the individual interacts with Nurture Education Group in person or electronically, such as when visiting our website.

Nurture Education Group will only collect personal information about a person if it is reasonably necessary for one or more of our functions or activities. The types of personal information collected and retained, how that information is collected and retained, and the purposes for which that information is collected, retained, used, and disclosed will vary depending on the circumstances.

Examples of instances where personal information may be collected by Nurture Education Group include:

  1. collecting personal information from shareholders for the purposes of enabling proper records to be kept and for reporting purposes; and
  2. collecting personal information from individuals who enter into service agreements, joint venture agreements or other transactions with Nurture Education Group for the purpose of administering those agreements or transactions or for reporting purposes.

Examples of the kinds of personal information Nurture Education Group may collect and hold include:

  • address;
  • phone number;
  • fax number;
  • email address;
  • information about goods or services ordered, acquired or supplied;
  • information from enquiries made;
  • communications between Nurture Education Group and an individual; and
  • credit card information.

Nurture Education Group will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that is collected, used or disclosed by it is complete and up to date. Nurture Education Group will only collect personal information about an individual from that individual unless it is unreasonable or impractical to do so.

3. Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

At or before, or if that is not practicable, as soon as practicable after, the time that the personal information is collected, Nurture Education Group will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is aware of the matters required by the Australian Privacy Principles, including:

  1. why the personal information is being collected;
  2. who else the personal information might be given to;
  3. the fact that this Privacy Policy contains information about how the individual is able to gain access to and correction of the information collected; and
  4. how to contact Nurture Education Group, including to make a complaint.

If Nurture Education Group collects personal information about an individual from someone else, Nurture Education Group will take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is aware that Nurture Education Group has collected the information and of the above matters.

Nurture Education Group will only use or disclose this personal information for:

  1. the purpose for which it was collected.
  2. any related purpose for which it would reasonably be expected to be used or disclosed.
  3. a purpose required or permitted by law; or
  4. a purpose for which the individual has provided consent.

The list of situations in which Nurture Education Group may divulge personal data about individuals to third parties includes disclosure to service providers, government organisations, regulatory bodies, affiliated corporate bodies, and professional advisers of Nurture Education Group. Nurture Education Group demands that its service providers maintain the privacy of all personal information and use it only to carry out those services.

4. Security of Personal Information

The Nurture Education Group will take all necessary precautions to protect the personal information it holds from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure.

Subject to any legal obligations to keep the personal information for any required period, Nurture Education Group will also take reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information it holds that is no longer required for the disclosed purpose is destroyed or permanently deidentified.

5. Access to, Updating and Correcting Personal Information

Nurture Education Group will typically grant access to any personal information about a person upon request from that person, regardless of the reason for the request.

In accordance with the Act, there are some situations where Nurture Education Group won’t give someone access to such personal information. These situations include those in which granting access would have an unreasonably negative effect on others’ privacy, in which granting access would expose the organization’s commercially sensitive information, or in which granting access would be illegal.

By contacting us, an individual can request access to any personal information that Nurture Education Group is holding about them and update or correct it.

6. Amendment of Policy

Nurture Education Group may amend this Policy from time to time.

7. Intranet and Website

This Policy as amended from time to time is to be placed on the Nurture Education Group intranet and website and is also available upon request.

8. Concerns, Queries and Complaints

If a person has any concern, query, or complaint about:

  1. any personal information that may have been collected, used or disclosed by Nurture Education Group;
  2. this Privacy Policy; or
  3. a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles,

they should be directed to the Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary.

The Nurture Education Group treats complaints seriously and will respond as soon as it is notified in writing.
